According to statistics published in the World Happiness Report 2017 regarding life satisfaction, British respondents placed more importance on being in a satisfying relationship and having sound mental health above physical health and income when it comes to life satisfaction. Yet so many of us lack the confidence to leave a dead-end or unsatisfying job, or a dysfunctional or lifeless relationship and fill our lives with shallow goals, striving for 'things' to silence the anxiety and stress in our minds.
We put up barriers and excuses and continue to settle, too afraid to make that leap and value our worth.
Many of the barriers we set up can be deep-rooted in psychological issues created from former experiences and treatment; indeed, the World Happiness Report 2017 highlights that many adulthood issues can be traced back to childhood and adolescence.
